If you want to request art by me, please read my
rules on them.
I'm a 49 yo mother of 4, who came to being an artist the long way around. My father was an artist, as are some of my kids (
fattendrils and
InvaderIka) but I always thought of myself as just a "crafter". My father taught me to "see" things though, and encouraged me to draw and paint what I "see".
I have fibromyalgia, and eventually could no longer keep up the jewelry making business I had, because of mobility and fatigue issues. So now I draw, and paint, and hope to become an illustrator or a colorist. Maybe with enough work and practice, I can become a comic book artist, a dream I've had since childhood.
I prefer traditional mediums, being less than savvy with a computer. I love watercolor, though I technically produce "mixed media" work because I also use pen and ink.
I'm a geek. I fly my geek flag proudly. I love Marvel (comics, movies, and tv), like DC comics (my husband collects comics), adore Usagi Yojimbo, and watch Doctor Who passionately. (My first Doctor was IV, my favorite is XII.) I play tabletop RPGs: currently running one Hero system game while playing in another, and also playing in my husband's 7th Sea game. I have also played and enjoyed Shadowrun and Stalking the Night Fantastic. It;s been a long time since I cosplayed, but I've made Halloween costumes that range from TMNT to Batman and Superman to a Bionicle to Harley Quinn to Alice to a Dalek and a Cyberman and a Weeping Angel. (All homemade - 4 kids, no money, who can afford to BUY costumes?) I used to hang out with the SCA but its now been several years due to my mobility issues.
I currently am working to improve my figure drawing by drawing characters from our games and character concepts from my imagination.
I live in a suburb of Cleveland Ohio with my husband, 4 kids, 1 room-mate, and 4 cats.
